We are looking for experienced Diagnostic Radiographers, committed to advancing their practice in Clinical MSK X-ray reporting. The post holder will be funded to undertake a PGC in MSK x-ray reporting and will become a reporting radiographer once qualified, This role will be paid at AFC band 6 for the training period, moving to band 7 on successful completion of course and passing internal audit. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be committed to providing high quality x-ray reports. This opportunity provides a building block in the clinical pillar of the four core pillars of practice for those looking to work towards a career in advanced and consultant practice. Once qualified, radiographic reporting sessions will be scheduled though the working week and will include 7-day GP hot reporting sessions across all sites, clinical skills will be maintained with clinical sessions rostered. This is an exciting time to join the reporting radiographer team at MTW. At MTW, the reporting radiographers are integrated into the sub-speciality teams providing opportunity for complex case discussion with Consultant Radiologists and Consultant practitioners. This also provides the support required for both knowledge and career development as part of a team approach. Main duties of the job Once qualified, the post holder will provide clinical expertise in Radiology by reporting radiographic images undertaken in the Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. Providing a cost effective and safe reporting service to patients of the Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust This is a training post for an experienced radiographer to develop in MSK x-ray reporting. During the training period your job plan will have 2 4 training sessions per week, the remainder of your time will be as a radiographer in x-ray plus or minus another relevant modality. Following qualification and achievement of set standards leading to autonomous reporting practice. Reporting radiographers will deliver a high quality, effective and efficient x-ray reporting service to the highest professional standards. To be part of a 7 day hot' reporting rota for both A&E images and GP x-ray requests. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake audit, research, clinical governance, teaching and clinical radiography. As a band 7 Radiographer you will support the department leads in managing and supervising staff and students across the department. Reporting radiographers are expected to work across all Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust sites, supporting the X-ray service.
* BSc or Equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography
* Health Care Professions Council Registered
* Evidence of on-going further personal and professional development related to Radiographer Reporting
* Member of the Society of Radiographers or equivalent for indemnity insurance
Experience / Knowledge Essential criteria
* Previous experience of working in the NHS or similar environment
* Awareness of current professional issues
* Sound knowledge of ionising radiation legislation
Desirable criteria
* Rotational experience in imaging modalities
* Participation in audit
