Electrical Project Manager
Our client, a leading specialist in the power utilities sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join their growing team. This permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of high-voltage (HV) projects, ensuring successful delivery across multiple locations in the UK. The role requires a strong understanding of ICP connections and power distribution, with a focus on safety, quality, and project efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end delivery of ICP connections up to 11kV, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to regulatory standards
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM responsibilities, risk assessments, and method statements
Conduct weekly progress meetings with the team and report directly to the Operations Manager
Oversee cost control, procurement, and budget management to ensure financial targets are met
Lead and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring quality standards are upheld throughout project delivery
Provide on-site supervision and technical leadership, ensuring all work aligns with design specifications and client expectations
Manage stakeholder and client relationships, liaising with DNOs, ICP providers, and regulatory bodies
Prepare and present progress reports, risk assessments, and project documentation to senior management and clients
Essential Requirements:
Strong electrical background, gained through hands-on experience or a degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience managing high-voltage (HV) projects, with a focus on 11kV connections
In-depth understanding of ICP processes, technical standards, and regulatory requirements
SMSTS certification (or equivalent site safety qualification)
Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK as required
Desirable Requirements:
Experience delivering 33kV projects
Civil Engineering experience and hold a NRSWA Supervisory qualification
Familiarity with National Grid or DNO frameworks
