Executive Heads have been retained to by a privately owned E-commerce business that has been supplying a broad range of products and equipment directly to consumers and businesses for over a decade. They have a winning combination of product diversity, exceptional service, efficient distribution, and a customer-focused approach and are looking to achieve its next phase of growth.
The Managing Director will lead a team of approximately 30 staff from their state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution centre near Middlesbrough. The role will include a mix of strategic and operational leadership, financial management, business development and driving customer experience.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Develop and execute the company's overall strategic vision and business plan to drive growth and profitability.
* Lead the development and implementation of innovative e-commerce strategies to stay ahead of industry trends.
* Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction across all departments.
* Optimise supply chain and logistics processes to enhance product delivery and reduce costs.
* Drive financial success by managing budgets, forecasting, and identifying opportunities for revenue generation and cost reduction.
* Monitor key financial metrics and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.
* Build and lead a high-performance executive team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to department heads, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments to expand the company's reach.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, industry influencers, and partners.
* Champion customer-centric initiatives to enhance the overall online shopping experience.
* Analyse customer feedback and market trends to continuously improve product offerings and service levels.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving high sales growth through leading multi-disciplinary teams. They should have experience in selling technically complex products or services to various customer segments. A strong background in sales and building successful sales teams is essential.
The candidate must demonstrate leadership qualities, capable of inspiring and motivating staff, customers, and shareholders. An understanding of technically complex products, services, and regulatory requirements is necessary. The ability to create a value-based culture aligned with company values and high-performance aspirations is crucial.
Experience in developing and delivering business plans with full P&L responsibility is required. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in various presentation formats are also important. Flexibility to travel within the UK and abroad as required is expected.
The salary on offer is up to £120,000 with a bonus related to revenue and EBIT results. For outstanding applicants, there is an option to receive equity as part of the remuneration. This will be an autonomous role with plenty of scope to drive change and take charge of your results.
