Joining us as a Manager within the Schemes Division at Howden, you will have an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of our Romford Branch business plan and provide motivational leadership across the team to build positive business growth for clients, team members and suppliers. Please note this is a full-time, permanent opportunity. You will be based in our Romford and ideally be onsite for 2 - 3 days per week on average Your responsibilities will include: Assisting in the preparation and implementation of the branch tactical plan to ensure alignment with our wider business strategy. Actively monitoring the market to seek opportunities for growing our book of business. Monitoring and forecasting renewal and new business activity to aid effective planning and resourcing. Responsibility to ensure that clients are accurately and adequately insured for all their insurance exposures and that correct advice is given. Determining work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure that our business objectives are not only met but exceeded. Participating in management meetings and reporting on business progress within your area of expertise. Acting as a senior referral point for the team, providing valuable technical input and advice. Planning appropriate broking solutions for clients' demands and needs. Negotiating with markets to provide the best balance of quality, service, and price. Crafting comprehensive client and broking documents. Providing accurate and timely management information to the senior management team. Reviewing wordings and gathering market intelligence to ensure our product offering is always up to date and relevant. Continually improve team performance through agreed development plans, regular 1-2-1s and appraisals. Working to recruit and retain high performing colleagues. To be successful in this role, you should have: Demonstrable experience to lead and empower the team, within a similar role in the insurance industry. A sophisticated understanding of general and legal principles of insurance. Detailed knowledge of the market, including specific territory knowledge and cultural awareness. An advanced understanding of relevant regulatory environments and requirements. Leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring. A high level of numeracy and literacy. Confident communication skills. Highly organised with planning and time management skills. The ability to work flexibly and meet tight deadlines. The ability to network and build sustainable relationships. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure. GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
