The Principal and Governors seek to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, and outstanding teacher and leader to head our Humanities Faculty, which includes Religious Studies, History, Geography, Sociology, Latin, and PSHE.
Personal attributes
As Head of Humanities, you will play a key leadership role in shaping the faculty’s strategic direction, raising standards of teaching and learning, and ensuring that each subject makes a meaningful contribution to our broad and balanced curriculum. You will be responsible for building a strong, collaborative, and high-performing team, supporting colleagues in delivering engaging, thought-provoking, and challenging lessons, and driving curriculum innovation and excellence across all Humanities subjects.
As the post-holder, you will:
* Be a specialist in History or RS
* Set the vision and direction for Religious Studies, History, Geography, Sociology, Latin, and PSHE.
* Ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
* Design an engaging, broad, and balanced curriculum.
* Build, support, and develop a high-performing faculty team.
* Monitor progress and implement strategies for success.
* Drive curriculum improvements and adopt best practices.
* Allocate and manage resources effectively
* Work with staff, parents, and external partners to enrich learning.
* Embed the school’s Christian values in all aspects of faculty leadership.
