Full-Time Position with Teaching Personnel

Position Overview:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil in a primary school in Sunderland. The role involves supporting a child with challenging behaviour who is on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP), helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s specific needs, ensuring progress in line with their ILP.
2. Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment, encouraging engagement and confidence.
3. Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, as outlined by the school and ILP.
4. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to support the pupil’s development.
5. Monitor and record the pupil’s progress, offering feedback to the teaching team and parents where appropriate.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children with challenging behaviour (essential).
2. Knowledge or experience of Individual Learning Plans (desirable but not essential; training can be provided).
3. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
5. A valid DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
6. Availability for full-time work during school hours (Monday to Friday).
