SAC Consulting is seeking an Agricultural Consultant to join our Inverness team on a full-time permanent basis. You will join a team of consultants delivering advice to farmers and land managers in the allocated area. The successful candidate will need to be versatile and be willing to be involved in a range of Consultancy services.
We are seeking candidates with significant potential for growth. Successful applicants will be appointed as a trainee, with the opportunity to develop into a full Consultant role following a comprehensive training period. For more details, please refer to the Job Particulars document.
Key Responsibilities
providing technical and business consultancy services to farmers and landowners in the Inverness area
working as a team to motivate, support and develop each other as a team, building strong relationships with the farming and local community, suppliers, and industry bodies
building trust and rapport with colleagues and customers
being initiative-taking and engaged with the development of wider SAC services, working with your regional consulting and academic colleagues
execution of project work funded both internally and externally
representing SAC Consulting and SRUC professionally at meetings, events, and farming groups
creating a work climate that encourages innovative ideas and solutions for customers
identifying and developing business opportunities.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
Significant practical post graduate experience in agriculture is required
qualification in Agriculture or another relevant discipline. SCQF Level 8. BASIS, FACTS, and FBAAS would be desirable qualifications
Competent user of Microsoft software including Windows, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
Full driving licence and own transport
Ability to travel away from home base when required
Flexibility in the range of work undertaken
Eligibility for Sponsorship:
This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. If you are a migrant worker you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
