Job Summary: You will primarily be required to visit client premises across London and the Home Counties, with occasional nationwide travel and overnight stays as needed. This role involves the comprehensive project management and delivery of life safety systems, predominantly in high-rise residential buildings, ensuring all work adheres to the relevant standards and the company’s stringent quality procedures. To excel in this position, you should possess a strong understanding of BS 5839-1, BS 5839-9, and BS 8629:2019. Familiarity with fan motors, inverters, and the wiring regulations outlined in BS 7671 would also be highly advantageous. Success in this role requires the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality, working effectively as part of a team or independently. This role also demands complete ownership of P&L, budgeting and forecasting in addition flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results in accordance with project requirements Requirements Key Responsibilities Project Management: Manage multiple smoke ventilation and fire alarm projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Working extremely closely with the Sales & Design teams to ensure GP% is being improved where possible. Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Team Coordination: Work closely with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution. Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and budgets to ensure efficient delivery. Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant regulations, including BS 7346, BS 5839-1, and Building Regulations (e.g., Approved Document B). Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions. Documentation: Oversee the preparation of project documentation, including O&M manuals, drawings, and handover packs. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications. Work closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure complete variation account control, including final accounts Financial Management: Track project costs, approve invoices, and ensure profitability targets are met Qualifications and Skills Proven experience in project management within the smoke ventilation, fire alarm, or fire safety industry. Minimum 5-7 years Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice (e.g., BS 7346, BS 5839). Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. ECS or CSCS skills card mandatory. SMSTS would be beneficial Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L. Full UK driving license. Engineering or technical background in fire safety, electrical, or mechanical systems (advantageous).
