There are vacancies in the following Directorates:
1. Directorate 1 - Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Cardiology and Renal Medicine
2. Directorate 3 - Palliative Medicine, Healthcare of Older People, Infectious Diseases/Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy, Rheumatology, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Neurology and Stroke
3. Directorate 10 - PICU, Paediatric services (Neurology, Oncology & Haematology, Diabetes and Endocrine, Nephrology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Respiratory), General Paediatrics, Community Paediatrics, the S.A.R.C. and Paediatric Emergency Department.
4. Directorate 12b - Maternity, Neonates and Fetal Medicine
Individual preferences for these roles will be discussed at interview.
The roles may be partially based at City Hospital in some cases.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Educated to first degree level
* Further training to PhD or equivalent experience
* Previous successful management experience at a senior level with applicable specialist knowledge
Experience
Essential criteria
* Highly developed leadership and organisational skills
* Experience of leading and managing substantial service change and redesign in a complex environment
* Highly developed specialist knowledge of NHS policy, health sector practices and functions of NHS provider organisations and current targets in place
* Clear understanding of NHS agenda
* High level understanding of NHS contracting and funding flows
* Proven track record of senior operational management in a multi-disciplinary environment
* Extensive experience of influencing decision making within a large and complex organisation
* Experience in analysing performance of area of activity in relation to performance targets, strategic objectives; develop strategies, business plans, advise in areas where expert opinion differs
* Experience in managing large budgets for multiple departments and or services of major area of activity; responsible for overall budget setting for major area of activity
* Significant senior management experience within a complex organisation

* Experience of managing complex organisational change, including working with clinical & non-clinical staff to change team structures and ways of working
* Confident in presenting complex information to wide and varied audience both internal and external to the organisation
