Your new role
Due to a growing order book, they are now looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their Cambridge team. They are looking for someone with strong main contracting experience as well as experience of managing and controlling the commercial aspects of a variety of projects. This position is a mix of office and site-based, with flexibility for occasional remote working.
Some key duties include:
* Provide accurate financial reporting on individual projects.
* Collate, review financially, and report on other projects.
* Supervise, support, and advise direct reports.
* Place subcontracts in accordance with the main contract and company policies and procedures.
* Advise other project surveyors of opportunities to maximise values and minimise costs.
* Ensure direct reports follow the correct procedures.
* Provide mentoring and assistance with the development of commercial team members.
* Provide assistance and support with commercial aspects of bids/tender opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience working for a main contractor.
* Experience working on Educational, Commercial, Healthcare, and Public buildings, preferably of over £50m value.
* Experience of leading and negotiating second stage tendering is an advantage.
* Experience in managing and mentoring a team of Surveyors over either one large or a number of smaller projects.
* Experience of reviewing and negotiating Main Contract terms.
* BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent commercially related subject, and RICS Membership.
