Consultant in Plastic Surgery (Lower Limb)

Applications are invited for a Consultant in Plastic Surgery (10PA) with an interest in Lower Limb Trauma with Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Plastic Surgery department at Cambridge has an international reputation for excellence. The department provides a Plastic, Reconstructive Service for both adults and children, including management of skin cancer, breast reconstruction, head and neck cancer, facial palsy, cleft lip and palate, and bone infection.
We offer a complex, upper and lower limb reconstructive service as part of our Major Trauma Centre status. The department collaborates closely and supports a wide range of other services within Cambridge including pelvi-oncology, sarcoma, perineal reconstruction, and chest wall reconstruction.
Main duties of the job
This is a new substantive post in the existing team of 20 dedicated plastic reconstructive surgeons. The successful candidate will manage lower limb trauma reconstruction and contribute to the bone infection multidisciplinary team. The post is also established to support the chest wall reconstructive service to Royal Papworth Hospital. A specialist knowledge and training in microsurgery and the techniques of sentinel lymph node biopsy are required.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Plastic Surgery or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
All newly appointed Consultants attend a five-day Consultant Development programme within a year of joining the Trust. This innovative programme is designed to support Consultants in honing the leadership and management skills necessary for success at CUH.
The successful candidate will contribute to the on-call rota and possess the skills necessary for the service.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per annum pro rata
