The Opportunity
As a User Researcher, you will play a pivotal role within the UX/Product design team, significantly influencing the future direction of our products by championing the user's perspective. Your primary mission is to understand the behaviours, motivations, and needs of our users through methodical, investigative approaches. Your insights will inform exceptional and consistent user experiences across our product portfolio, ultimately leading to the creation of innovative, accessible, and engaging digital products that not only satisfy users but also delight and empower them.
Working alongside UX designers, engineers, and product & account managers, you'll contribute during an exciting period. We're redefining the "PropTech" industry, introducing new paradigms and operational methodologies that span the entire property journey — from estate agents, solicitors, to surveyors.
Your role will be crucial in establishing the leading CX and UX for various businesses and brands, optimising user experience through comprehensive research methodologies helping bring to market services and solutions that genuinely captivate our customers.
We are looking to build a UX Research team so we need someone ambitious to help us make this happen.
What you’ll be doing:
13. Leading key B2B user research projects within one of our development tribes, from planning through execution and delivery of insights that will inform design and development.
14. Working closely with the UX team, product managers, developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to identify research questions, develop hypotheses, and establish the research plan to understand user needs and business goals.
15. Designing and conducting user research studies, including surveys, interviews, field studies, and usability tests to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
16. Analysing user behaviour and feedback to derive powerful user insights, create user personas, and map user journeys.
17. Working with the UX team to plan and facilitate usability testing
18. Communicating findings and actionable recommendations to internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring user voices are accurately represented in decision-making processes.
19. Promoting a user-centred design culture and advocating for users in discussions of product and design strategy.
20. Utilising both qualitative and quantitative data to iteratively improve products and inform business decisions.
21. Contributing to the development and refinement of the company's user research methods and practices, helping to elevate the overall maturity of UX research within the business.
What you’ll need:
22. Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in a User Research role, or a similar position.
23. A deep-rooted passion for solving user problems and a strong belief in the value of user-centred design.
24. Experience designing, conducting, and analysing various types of user research methods such as usability studies, in-depth interviews, user surveys, persona developments, and field research.
25. A robust portfolio of research projects that showcases your methodologies, execution, insights, and impact on decisions and outcomes.
26. Proficiency in using tools and platforms for user research like UserTesting, Lookback, or similar, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.
27. Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
28. A clear understanding of the nuances of integrating user research into agile/scrum environments and a history of working in such collaborative, fast-paced contexts.
29. Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively, managing the logistics of research projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
30. Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate insights and recommendations clearly and persuasively to various stakeholders.
31. A strong advocate for research ethics, user privacy, and accessibility considerations throughout the research process.
32. Proven understanding of UX design process and how research and testing play a key role.
33. A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field would be advantageous, though not strictly required with relevant experience.
