About the role
We have a brilliant opportunity for an HR Business Partner to lead and support the delivery of our HR agenda within a defined business area.
Reporting to the HR Director, and working closely with the Heads of HR and business leaders this person will:
- Use Data & Analytics as well as Business and HR insight to influence change initiatives at a strategic level
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement appropriate organisational design, structures and job roles
- Lead critical Business and HR Function projects.
They will be responsible for:
1. Creating strategic partnerships with leaders and establishing a licence to operate
2. Strategy & Planning: Working with the Heads of HR to support a specific customer group(s) within a vector or function. Operating as an integral part of the vector/function to lead the design and implementation of the HR Strategy aligning to abrdn strategic objectives
3. Strategic Capability Planning with CoEs: Implementing appropriate strategic capability planning (e.g. talent and resourcing strategies) to deliver the right people in the right place at the right time with the right skills
4. Change Management: Working with senior business leaders to proactively plan, advise and support the implementation of change, its’ impact on people and working practices to enable improved business performance whilst ensuring this also supports abrdn’s organisational culture and values
5. Leadership: Forming strong and influential relationships between self, leaders and HR Function colleagues in order to deliver strategic value to abrdn. In addition, demonstrates personal credibility and capability across the function to provide a quality service
6. Leveraging the breadth of CoEs to the business: Talent and Organisational Effectiveness, Global Reward, D&I and HR Service
7. HR Function Service Delivery: Ensuring effective flow of communication between CoEs and Business. Where appropriate supporting escalations and problem resolution.
8. Employee Engagement: Collaborating with the CoEs and the business to drive employee engagement initiatives and plans for retaining and winning top talent
Skills and Experience we're looking for (minimum requirements):
9. HR background with project delivery and CoE expertise and experienced in operating in a matrixed global environment
10. Excellent stakeholder management with senior business leaders and ability to influence change
11. Strong relationship skills and ability to build rapport with stakeholders
12. Awareness of what, and how, the wider business strategy can be supported by the HR Function
13. Experience coaching and mentoring line managers, project consultants, CoE partners
14. Demonstrated success in delivering results under tight deadlines
15. Global Acumen with sensitivity to diverse cultures and personality types
16. Track Record in driving changes through influencing and communication
17. Positive and driven mindset
18. Strong Delivery Focus
19. Can look ahead, anticipate, speak up and act with initiative
20. Value-adding experience and expertise gained in HR functions (such as Business Partnering, Talent, Reward, HR Operations etc.) would be highly beneficial
