If so, this is a unique opportunity to join Ministerial Private Office Division, working at the heart of the Scottish Government. This is a fast paced and interesting role which focusses on providing support to Special Advisers and Ministers. Special Advisers (SPADs) provide political advice to the First Minister and Scottish Cabinet across all portfolio areas. The attached link provides further detail on the Special Adviser team and their responsibilities: Working with special advisers (SPADs) Responsibilities • Provision of policy and administrative support to the Chief of Staff, Head of Policy and Special Advisers. • Diary and document management. • Freedom of Information (FoI) management in the Private Office and liaison with the FoI Unit and officials. • Support to Special Advisers with FMQ prep and liaison with FMQ team throughout the week • Ensuring compliance with mandatory training packages and other aspects of the Special Adviser contract and code of conduct. • Liaison with Director Generals (DGs) and Directors, the First Minister’s Private Office and Policy Unit and Ministerial Private Offices.
