Behaviour Support Assistant – Bramhall, Stockport
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Bramhall, Stockport. This full-time position starts in October and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on your performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting students who require additional help in managing their behaviour and emotional well-being. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives and helping them succeed in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Individual Student Support: Work closely with students who exhibit challenging behaviours, providing one-on-one support to help them manage their emotions and behaviours effectively. Develop and implement strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
* Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring that all students are engaged and focused on their learning. Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Behavioural Interventions: Support the development and implementation of behavioural interventions, working alongside the school’s pastoral team. Monitor the effectiveness of these interventions and make adjustments as necessary.
* Mentoring and Guidance: Act as a mentor to students, offering guidance and support in both academic and personal development. Encourage students to reflect on their behaviour and make positive choices.
* Conflict Resolution: Assist in resolving conflicts between students, using restorative practices to help students understand the impact of their behaviour and repair relationships.
* Monitoring and Reporting: Keep detailed records of student behaviour and progress, providing feedback to teachers, the pastoral team, and parents as needed. Use this information to inform future support strategies.
* Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities provided by the school and Teaching Personnel. Stay up-to-date with the latest practices in behaviour management and student support.
Requirements:
* A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with behavioural difficulties.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Experience working with young people in an educational or support role is highly desirable.
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to dealing with challenging behaviours.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of students.
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently when required.
