CNC Turning Programmer/Setter - Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: Bitton, Bristol
Salary: £16 per hour + 25% shift allowance for late shifts
Shifts: Double Day Shift
Shift Pattern:
1. Early Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Mon-Thu) & 6:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Fri)
2. Late Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Mon-Thu) & 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Fri)

Shorterm Group is excited to recruit for a CNC Turning Programmer/Setter on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturing company, part of a prestigious global engineering group. The Role:
As a CNC Turning Programmer/Setter, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines, including multi-spindle, multi-turret machines (Miyano preferred) using Fanuc controls. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the production of high-quality aerospace components that meet strict industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program & Set CNC Machines - Fully program machines online, set workpieces, fixtures, and tools for multi-axis turning centres.
2. Operate CNC Machines - Work with Fanuc controls, troubleshoot, and optimize G-code programs.
3. Quality & Compliance - Ensure adherence to GD&T, aerospace tolerances, and industry regulations.
4. Continuous Improvement - Monitor OEE data (FourJaw) and contribute to production optimization.
5. Collaboration & Documentation - Work closely with engineers, maintain accurate setup sheets, and support process improvements.
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience as a CNC Turning Programmer/Setter in a precision engineering environment.
2. Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls, multi-axis turning, and CNC programming.
3. Ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately.
4. Experience with Miyano machines (preferred but not essential).
5. A commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety in a fast-paced aerospace setting.
