Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 43 year old lady living in the Barry area. I would like a Personal assistant to help and support me in my home and when I am out in the community. I have been diagnosed with a neurological function disorder which causes a weakness in my right side, making me unsteady at times and cannot carry lots of bags etc. I am quite creative person and enjoy making things. I would like to go out in the community more to help better my mood.
I would also like someone to help me cook a hello fresh meal, so I can build up confidence in learning new skills and ready myself for living on my own.
I like to go bowling once a week, to get some strength back on my right side and with help of PA find another gym class to go to, this would be at Barry Leisure Centre
PURPOSE OF JOB
To support and assist me in my home and the community, to encourage me to learn new skills and to help develop my independence. Make appointments on my behalf and to also attend appointments.
PLACE OF WORK
In and around the vale.
HOURS OF WORK
7 hours a week.
RATE OF PAY
12.00 Per hour.
TASKS INVOLVED
Support and supervision with personal care.
To teach me to learn basic skills needed to prepare meals.
To assist me with my shopping needs and hopefully teach me some calming techniques, to reduce my stress level.
To help me become independent with domestic tasks and everyday living.
To attend my Art Therapy class and other counselling session.
To speak on my behalf to PIP and ESA as this can cause me to get worked up.

A positive outgoing person who will encourage my independence.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
