Business Development Manager - The Role: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. Your role will involve building relationships with hospitals and medical businesses across the UK, promoting our auction services, and securing contracts to handle the sale of surplus equipment. Business Development Manager - Key Responsibilities: Identify Opportunities: Engage with healthcare providers and businesses to uncover potential surplus equipment sales. Client Relationship Management: The Business Development Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, such as biomedical engineers, procurement managers, and finance teams, within NHS organisations and other healthcare businesses. Present Solutions: Clearly communicate the value of PMA’s auction services, tailoring presentations and proposals to client needs. Close Deals: The Business Development Manager will negotiate and secure contracts for auctioning and reselling equipment via our platform. Market Insight: Stay informed about medical equipment trends and relevant regulations. Strategy and Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, and auctioneers, to deliver a seamless client experience. Database Management: Keep customer databases updated and ensure effective information sharing across the team. Business Development Manager - Essential Skills and Experience: The Business Development Manager will have at least 2 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in the medical device or healthcare sector. Demonstrable experience of successful cold calling and building your own pipelines. Proven success in exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. Experience managing / updating a CRM (ideally HubSpot) Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong negotiation and deal-closing expertise. It’s essential that the Business Development Manager is self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Desirable (but not necessary) Skills and Experience: Experience working within or an understanding of the UK healthcare system, particularly with NHS organisations. Knowledge of the medical device industry and surplus equipment challenges. A degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
