The Role As a Control Systems Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions. Key responsibilities include: Preparing IO Schedules based on client-provided data and discussions. Writing detailed Functional Design Specifications (FDS) derived from user requirements or customer collaboration. Developing robust system architectures with a focus on networking and cybersecurity. Programming and testing PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems. Supporting Client Factory Acceptance Testing (CFAT) and ensuring system performance. Commissioning systems on-site across the UK, occasionally requiring overnight stays. Acting as a professional and knowledgeable representative of the company to clients. Managing projects autonomously and liaising with customers throughout the process. Collaborating with and mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing. Creating and reviewing engineering standards, practices, and reusable software solutions. Providing expert technical support to customers as needed. About You Our client is seeking candidates with the following skills and attributes: Control System Experience: A background in PLC, HMI, or SCADA systems is essential. Programming Expertise: Experience with one or more PLC platforms such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Schneider. Project Lifecycle Knowledge: End-to-end experience in designing, developing, and commissioning systems. Customer-Centric Mindset: Confident in engaging with clients and understanding their needs. Adaptability: A full driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK. Teamwork and Leadership: Ability to work independently, collaborate with teams, and mentor others.
