Our client are renowned for delivering innovative and sustainable consumables to the flexible packaging industry. Due to continued success, they're seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their dynamic team in a key role where the opportunity exists to carve out a career.
This role combines technical expertise with a commercial acumen, requiring hands-on involvement in engineering solutions while supporting the sales team.
The position involves travel to customer sites across the UK, to provide technical guidance, address challenges, and build strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
* Work closely with customers to understand their technical needs and provide tailored solutions.
* Conduct site visits to assess material performance and recommend improvements or troubleshooting strategies.
* Assist customers with trials of new materials to ensure full suitability and approval for their specific needs.
Sales Support:
* Collaborate with the sales team to identify client requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
* Manage trialling process, including supplier liaison, to ensure timely and successful outcomes for new lines of business.
* Drive the customer sustainability agenda through implementation of appropriate materials.
* Act as a liaison between engineering, production, and the sales team to ensure seamless communication and project delivery.
* Travel:
* Regular travel across the UK to client sites for consultations, technical support, trouble shooting, and project oversight.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in a technical role, preferably within the packaging industry, as an engineer / project manager / technical demonstrator, or similar.
* Understanding of flexible packaging materials, processes, and machinery.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Sales support experience, including the ability to identify customer needs and present solutions effectively.
* Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently to client sites located across the UK, including overnight stays when required.
* Self-motivated, organized, and capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Proficiency in technical documentation, reporting, and presentations.
