Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant
Have you recently completed your degree in a Humanities subject and have ambitions to pursue a career in education? You may have been thinking about a route to teaching but want some hands-on experience in the classroom to set you up for this. Want to become an inspiration to the next generation of Humanities students?
An exciting opportunity at a well-run secondary school is available for graduates to join their Humanities department as a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant. The school is open to speaking to individuals looking for immediate starts as well as September starts, so if you have recently completed your degree, this could be ideal for you!
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with delivering engaging lessons in history, geography, and other humanities subjects.
* Support students on a one-on-one or small group basis, helping them to grasp key concepts and improve their academic skills.
* Help create and prepare lesson materials that foster critical thinking and student engagement.
* Encourage students to develop their analytical and problem-solving skills through the study of humanities topics.
* Track student progress and provide feedback to support their development.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and inspired.
* Assist with classroom management and ensuring students remain on task and engaged.
Key Requirements:
* A 2:1 degree or higher in a Humanities-related field (such as History, Geography, Politics, Sociology, or a related subject).
* A passion for teaching and supporting students in their learning.
* Previous experience working with students (desirable but not essential).
* Fully enhanced DBS check on the update service.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to helping students.
* A genuine desire to pursue a career in education, particularly in the humanities.
