We are seeking a Critical Care Technologist to join our dedicated team within the Adult Critical Care Units (ACCU) and Cardiac Recovery Unit (CRU). Reporting to the Lead Critical Care Technologists, you will play a vital role in managing and maintaining medical equipment to ensure optimal patient care. Key Purpose
To assist in the care and maintenance of physiological measurement, medical, scientific and laboratory equipment in all Critical Care Units, under the technical operational direction of the Technical Operations Manager & Lead Critical Care Technologists. The post holder will work primarily in the Adult Critical Care Units (ACCU) and Cardiac Recovery Unit (CRU) with some weekend working. The post holder will also orientate new members of staff on equipment usage, safety and to maintain accurate training records.
Key Accountabilities
1. Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot critical care equipment, ensuring high standards of decontamination, servicing, and record-keeping.
2. Conduct daily checks, ensure availability of devices, and manage decontamination and reassembly of critical care equipment.
3. Support ordering, receiving, and maintaining stock levels of specialised consumables, sterile instruments, and high-cost items, liaising with Sterile Services as needed.
4. Provide orientation, training, and support on equipment usage and safety, ensuring compliance with CQC/MHRA standards and offering advice for departmental research projects.
