CNC Machinist – Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise who can set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce high-precision components.
Key Responsibilities
1. Set up, program, and operate mostly CNC milling and possibly CNC turning machines to produce precision-engineered components.
2. Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to ensure correct machining processes.
3. Work to tight tolerances and inspect finished parts to meet quality control standards.
4. Program CNC machines using OneCNC software and load using controllers such as Fanuc and Heidenhain; training will be provided for the OneCNC software.
5. Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to optimize machining efficiency. Set clamps, fixtures, and angle plates to effectively hold the parts.
6. Work with various materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, hardened steels, mild steel, and engineering plastics.
7. Carry out basic machine maintenance and ensure all equipment is kept in good working order.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
9. Ensure health & safety regulations and workplace procedures are always followed.
