We are currently seeking an experienced analytical chemist to join our busy Chemistry Department based in our labs in Clapham, London. This role is maternity cover for a period of around 1 year starting from Feb 2025. The Role Sandberg is a medium-sized business providing testing, inspection and consultancy services, predominantly to construction related projects. We were established over 160 years ago and have worked on many high profile projects both in the UK and abroad. Our chemistry department is UKAS accredited and provides vital information on compositions of construction materials to help characterise and assist with failure investigations. You will carry out a selection of routine and investigative analyses on a wide range of inorganic and organic materials relating to construction. Working as part of a small, friendly team you will be provided training in the different techniques and procedures. Once competent you will be responsible for undertaking and progressing testing for specific projects as required, with the support and assistance of the department manager and your colleagues. This is a temporary, full time position, Monday to Friday to cover an existing employee's maternity leave. It is anticipated the role will start last around 1 year. Salary is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. You will be eligible to join the Sandberg pension scheme. Season ticket loans are available as is a cycle to work scheme. The Person This is a perfect role for someone with experience of working in an industrial lab that can then bring their knowledge of good lab practice and wet chemistry. You will be conscientious, reliable and willing to work within a small team.
