Job Description
Holtec International and its subsidiary companies are designing a safe and secure source of clean energy using nuclear fission, called the Holtec SMR (Small Modular Reactor). The position is offered by SMR LLC as a member of the Holtec International family, a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for the nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power sectors of the energy industry.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
1. Utilizing Smart3D (formerly SmartPlant 3D) to create 3D electrical models of the electrical systems within and supporting the SMR plant, including but not limited to single line diagrams, cable trays & cable tray supports, raceways, lighting, duct banks, cable routing, pull boxes, and embedded conduit.
2. Maintaining and checking the S3D model to ensure accuracy and resolution of interferences.
3. Developing and checking design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards.
4. Building relationships that will facilitate knowledge transfer, cross-functional knowledge of related work groups, and the ability to present work products effectively.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a SmartPlant 3D Electrical Designer.
2. Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria.
3. Strong knowledge of electrical drafting and design standards and techniques.
4. Excellent attention to detail and capability of producing error-free documents.
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
Optional Additional Qualifications:
1. Working understanding and hands-on experience of other design software, such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks, and Revit.
2. Completion of Intergraph/Hexagon certified training courses.
3. Professional certification in Electrical design.
4. Progressive work experience in design or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or engineering/construction firms.
