Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in translating the customer’s vision into a bespoke personalised product which fulfils the customers’ requirements. You will adopt a solutions-focused approach, liaising with key personnel throughout the sales and deployment cycle to ensure that all specification needs are accounted for, being passionate about getting it right the first time. You will become a trusted advisor and the customer’s main point of contact by providing outstanding technical support, industry-leading professional service, and an ambassador for Synectics values.
With this in mind, we are looking for an individual with strong rapport-building skills and an ability to communicate with key stakeholders at all levels. As Systems Engineer, you have an opportunity to make a real difference in our customers' experience whilst developing innovative and dynamic solutions within the field.
Duties and Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Perform onsite software support, system deployment, audits, training, maintenance and technical support to Synectics software solutions on customer premises.
2. Configuring Synergy systems to meet customers' defined specifications.
3. Managing installation and commissioning of large-scale projects, adopting a collaborative approach and liaising with key personnel as to the specification and delivery requirements.
4. Understand our customer’s business, technical and operational requirements and be able to match them to Synectics’ value proposition.
5. Develop and maintain an extensive working knowledge of Synectics solutions.
6. Identify complex technical problems and introduce solutions to solve them, being innovative and dynamic in your approach.
7. Provide onsite and offsite professional services to Synectics customers and act as the main point of contact between Synectics, its customers and partners.
8. Support the pre-sales team in defining product and functional requirements based on customer feedback and help to articulate new product development work specific to the customer requirements.
9. Provide technical expertise to Pre-sales and Sales colleagues for sales quotes and proposals.
10. Work closely with the project manager, systems integrators and Head of Systems Engineering to achieve deliverables across the sale and integration cycle.
11. Be a key player in kick-off meetings, establishing timescales and allocation of resources.
12. Resolve problems in compliance with established processes.
13. Ensure timely escalation of critical customer issues through the proper channels.
14. Ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
15. Provide an open forum for questions regarding strategic plans, best practices, and ad-hoc consulting for software implementation, integration, training, and change requests.
16. Deliver accurate, high-quality system handover documentation to project stakeholders.
17. Ensure the proper recording of issues encountered in the field in the Synectics ticket system and CRM tool.
18. Remain a continued source of contact for customers with whom you work, being someone who they can approach for the evolution of their service and/or support requirements
19. Regular travel to be expected both domestically and/or internationally as per operational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and experience:
31. Relevant technical surveillance experience
32. Experience of providing technical solutions for enterprise customers
33. Excellent administration and troubleshooting knowledge of the various Windows operating system components (Active Directory, file sharing, clustering, GPO, performance monitoring, etc.)
34. Excellent knowledge of networking principles and IP protocols
35. Experience with networking equipment configuration and troubleshooting (switches, routers, etc.)
36. Experience with Cloud technologies
37. Experience working with IP video systems
38. Understanding of server virtualization concepts
39. Understanding of video streaming methodologies
40. Experience working with SQL databases
41. Clear understanding of TCP, IP and UDP protocol stack
42. Understanding of network storage (SAN, NAS, iSCSI) principles and best practices
43. Proven technical training in software and/or IT verticals in fast-paced environments
44. Must hold a full driver’s license
