Role Description:
The Technical Consultant will work within the Delivery environment organizing and overseeing all customer-based IT implementations, developing quality processes and documentation for installation to satisfy the customer and business requirements.
They will work within the Service environment organizing and overseeing all customer-based IT activities, developing quality processes for finding and resolving incidents and problems to meet defined Service Level Agreements to satisfy the customer and business requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Act on a consultancy basis for completing any pre-sales requirements, including but not limited to:
1. Review customers' existing infrastructure
2. Platform sizing and design
3. Match to contractual performance, availability, etc.
4. Documentation requirements and development, e.g., Environmental reports, solutions design, etc.
* Work within the delivery environment completing required customer-based IT implementation project work, including but not limited to:
1. Work with hardware suppliers to manage, configure and implement appropriate solutions on site
2. Configure hardware maintenance plans
3. Design, agree and implement remote access capabilities
4. Agree on backup, virus protection, etc. policies with clients
5. Documentation requirements and development, e.g., Server build and configuration audits, disaster recovery, support handover, etc.
* Act on a consultancy basis with the project delivery/management team for technical issues.
* Participate in application deployments/migrations for various CliniSys products and modules including ICE, WinPath Enterprise, and WinPath V5.
* Carry out or assist with database installations, including Oracle and MSSQL.
* Organize and oversee all customer-based IT activities in the Service environment, including but not limited to:
1. Assist with/review/manage network infrastructure issues
2. Assist with/review/manage hardware platform issues
3. Assist with/review/manage general infrastructure issues
* Participate in strategy for the deployment of applications and improvements for proactive support methodology and processes.
* Ensure relevant technical documentation is completed/updated for all internal teams and customers as required.
* Understand, comply, and develop with customer and CliniSys procedures, working practices, and directives in a timely manner.
* Develop and maintain rapport with end users by displaying a detailed understanding of their IT environment and Pathology issues/pressures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Strong Technical background, ideally:
1. Virtualisation (VMWare / HyperV), Server installation and Maintenance, Windows Domain Knowledge
2. Clustering, NLB, High availability, Basic Networking knowledge, IIS
3. Some exposure to Oracle RAC/DataGuard, Oracle on Windows and MSSQL
4. Exposure to iSCSI storage or Fibre Channel storage
5. Microsoft AZURE deployment: ADO / ADO Repo - Boards - WIKI / Deployment Pipelines / Power shell / Power shell desired state / YAML
