The post holder will develop, manage, and lead the Recognise and Respond unit which incorporates; Rapid Response Team (RRT), Critical Care Anaesthetic Practitioners (CCAP) and Resus department and all associated administration staff. All aspects support Trust wide Education and Quality Improvement; overseeing the response, review, and treatment of deteriorating ward patients throughout the NNUH site. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Post-ITU/HDU Care for those stepping down from a critical care admission. Finally engaging with quality assurance and improvement with delivery and enhancement of education across the wider surgical Division.
You will be responsible for the effective management of human and financial resources in order to achieve the performance management targets of the division. Work in collaboration with other agencies/organisations to deliver national, regional and local agendas relating to their directorate. Advise the organisation on relevant issues regarding the Recognise and Respond Team. Actively contribute to the Trust’s Governance agenda.

1. Oversee the standard of care delivery within the RRT service and develop strategies to address issues as they arise.
2. Be integral in the development and delivery of the Call for Concern patient and relative liaison service.
3. Lead the development of quality assurance and improvement projects across the surgical Division, overseeing the response to key clinical quality indicators for the deteriorating patient.
4. Ensure the resuscitation officers implement and deliver mandatory and enhanced advanced acute care courses to a range of health care students and staff across the Trust.
5. Ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of care across the service.
6. Responsible for ensuring that clinical standards are delivered in line with national, regional and local policies, e.g. ICS and CQC standards, National Service Frameworks, Essence of Care clinical benchmarking, dissemination and implementation of best practice.
