Location: Rotherham
Salary: A£36,406 - A£39,771 per annum + benefits
Hours: Full time (37hrs per week, all year round)

The Role

As Senior Financial Accountant, you'll work closely with senior finance leaders to ensure they achieve outstanding results for their students through robust financial strategy and practice.
What you'll do:
1. Support the management of the financial health of the Group by producing cash flow forecasts, balance sheet forecasts, and financial health calculations.
2. Ensure compliance with VAT and Corporation Tax legislation and timely submission of HMRC returns.
3. Oversee the Group's asset register, depreciation budgets, and capital spend reporting.
4. Lead and mentor the sales ledger team and assistant accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including MIS, Bids & Contracts, to drive financial efficiency and accuracy.
6. Contribute to key projects and ensure accurate budget and forecast reflections.
7. Support the Finance Manager and deputise in their absence.
Skills and Qualifications
1. You will be Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or actively working towards qualification and hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake).
2. You will have proven experience in financial planning and budgeting and a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
3. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders, and have a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving with an ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
Department Info
As Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the direct line management of the Sales Ledger team and Assistant Accountants. You will report to the Finance Manager, who will give you direction on your day-to-day workload, and you will also work closely with the Financial Controller, Budget Holders, along with members of College Management Team, Senior Leadership Team, and Executive Leadership Team.
