You will be responsible for the design & development, prototype assembly and testing of photonic and fibre-optic components, modules, and sub-systems, leveraging cutting-edge fibre-optic and opto-electronic technologies. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including mechanical and electronic design engineers, you will create innovative products that push the boundaries of optical technology. Working closely with the customer, you will present design results and technical information to both internal teams and external customers, ensuring alignment and satisfaction. Experience: We are seeking an individual with a broad knowledge base in fibre-optics, photonics, and related technologies is essential. Experience with high-power fibre lasers/amplifiers, non-linear optics, photonic integrated circuits, or acousto-optics is highly desirable. Experience in the design and development of fibre-optic and free-space transmission systems (analogue, digital, coherent) is advantageous. The ability to generate proposals and manage both the financial and technical aspects of development projects is also advantageous. Qualifications: At least a Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related discipline is essential. Preference will be given to those who hold a PhD in Physics, Photonics, Optics or a relevant discipline.
