The company is a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering firm that started in Scotland 45 years ago. They work in civil engineering, industrial, rail, power, petrochemical, surfacing, and drainage all over the UK. They have recently opened a new office in Manchester and also have an office in Southampton as they look to continue their rapid growth. They have an extremely high staff retention rate and are very rarely looking for new staff; however, they have just won a lot of new work and are looking for operational staff in the North West and Yorkshire. Their clients include National Highways, the Environment Agency, United Utilities, and private clients. Projects range in value from £50,000 up to £12M and types of projects include flood prevention works, wastewater and drainage works, reservoirs, canals and rivers, renewable energy works, highways infrastructure works, bridges, culverts and retaining walls, highways construction and maintenance works, as well as footways and cycleways works. They currently turn over £130M.
About the role
The company is looking for a Site Agent to work on civil engineering infrastructure projects in the North West and Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be expected to operate and promote a high standard of health and safety by ensuring Method Statements and Risk Assessments are in place for all aspects of the works. You'll have to check engineering drawings/specifications, identifying and resolving design conflicts.
You will be working on Power and Energy projects where the work will include battery storage facilities and substations. There will also be Civils Projects where works will include Water treatment Civils upgrades, minor roads, junctions, and enabling works for developments.
You'll be in charge of undertaking management of Sub Agents, Section Engineers, and Site Engineers while you work closely and report directly to the project manager.
Other projects that you'll be involved in will range from infrastructure, bridge infrastructure, concrete structures, land drainage, internal drainage, flood banks, deep drainage, and major earthwork projects.

Requirements
Ideally, the successful candidate would need at least 3 years of experience in site management in a civil engineering environment working on similar projects. You will be degree qualified as an engineer and will have worked your way up to a Site Agent level and will be ready to step straight into that role.
You will have excellent stability on your CV and will have significant UK experience.
