Job Purpose
The Food Scientist position on the Godshall’s R&D team is expected to plan and execute projects and processes in the R&D Department to support the company’s innovation process, manufacturing, shelf-life extension and product maintenance initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary job duties and responsibilities include:
1. Propose and formulate innovative products, processes, and technologies to contribute to Godshall’s continued growth.
2. Conduct experimentation using a designed approach to validate formulations and processes at the bench and pilot scale before entering production.
3. Troubleshoot problems in projects, come up with suggestions, and discuss with R&D Food Science Director.
4. Stay current with industry trends, scientific research, and regulatory developments related to food science and nutrition.
5. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards throughout the product development process.
6. Prepare technical documentation, including product specifications, manufacturing procedures, and regulatory submissions.
7. Develop independent insights to improve R&D processes.
8. Attend production runs, as needed.
9. Package and ship samples and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job include:
1. B.S. in Food Science or related field.
2. Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely.
3. Successful completion of a drug and background screen.
4. Must be able to work in various temperatures (office/lab/production).
5. Ability to legally work in the United States is required.
6. Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment.
7. Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
8. Demonstrates ability to prioritize activities in order to meet business-critical timelines.
9. Ability to carry out duties and instructions in a diligent and logical manner with moderate amounts of supervision.
