We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Hygienist to support a pharmaceutical client in Northumberland. Scope of Work: Working as part of a multidisciplinary team in conjunction with safety, health, and environment (SHE), manufacturing operations, engineering, occupational health and HR to identify, assess, and evaluate solutions to control workplace health hazards and manage associated risk to health. This covers chemical, physical, and biological agents, and forms a pivotal role in helping the organisation understand health hazards and how they affect the health of workers. Undertaking measurements for chemical agents, noise, vibration, thermal environment, and non-ionising radiation, and interpreting results with respect to established criteria. Planning and organising surveys and developing sampling strategies in accordance with established guidance and protocols. Identifying reasonably practicable control measures for non-complex situations. Using qualitative and quantitative assessment methods for assessing exposures. Ensuring reports are documented and communicated to key stakeholders. Evaluating risk and any need for action to prevent or reduce exposures. Advising on containment solution options for exposure prevention. Advising on the range of methods for exposure control. Advising on appropriate selection and use of personal protective equipment. Pro-actively identifying opportunities for improvement in control strategies and working with key stakeholders to enhance the end user’s knowledge and understanding of risk. Requirements: Occupational Hygienist qualification or related Proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry or similar CMIOSH or BOSH desirable Proven experience in conducting hygiene assessments Strong understanding of workplace health hazards and control measures Inside IR35 Contract Site based 6 months
