About the Service This role offers a market supplement payment of £3,000 (pro-rated for part-time) reviewed annually. We are looking for social workers passionate about the rights of people with learning disabilities to be part of a service providing high-quality support enabling people to lead fulfilling and varied lives. Exciting opportunities have arisen for qualified social workers to join the Adults with Learning Disabilities Team in Cardiff following restructuring and internal promotions. We seek a Senior Social Worker - Transition to join our Learning Disabilities Teams. This is a great time to join the service as we have increased capacity to support staff development and strengthen our high-quality services. We are looking for Social Workers with a thorough understanding of the principles of the Social Services and Well-being Act and skills in conducting assessments and court work that is strength-based/outcomes-focused, as well as managing complex case loads effectively. This role includes assessing risks and supporting individuals to positively manage these risks. Experience working with people with learning disabilities and autism is essential. Our Learning Disabilities teams are part of the Adult, Housing, and Communities Directorate within Cardiff Council. About the Role Full-time and part-time Grade 8 opportunities are available in the Learning Disabilities Community Team at Cardiff Council's Adult Services. Commitment to excellent practice and eagerness to learn. Commitment to developing understanding of the Mental Capacity Act framework. Willingness to work towards improving knowledge of court processes. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting citizen welfare. Ability to speak other languages, especially Welsh, is an advantage.
