Job summary
The Meadow Unit is a brand new purpose built CAMHS PICU (Psychiatric Inpatient Unit for Children and Young People) which opened in late 2023 and we are looking for a well-motivated, conscientious, and friendly person who is willing to learn and play a key role in improving the lives of the service users we work with.
This is a Medical Secretary role, which can be demanding, challenging and requires skill to handle all contacts with confidence, compassion, patience and professionalism. It sits within a larger team that is extremely supportive and together we all make a real difference to children and young people
Main duties of the job
Good communication skills are essential together with high levels of emotional resilience. Key duties include:
1. Receive telephone calls using a high level of initiative and responding in a confidential and sensitive way
2. Supporting with developing Rosters for the Nursing team
3. Recording minutes at departmental meetings
4. Supporting the ward consultant in managing their diary
5. Supporting the ward consultant in managing dates around Mental Health Act administration
6. Ensure that client related documentation is entered onto databases for all patients within the team caseload in a timely manner
7. Processing patient referrals and discharges from the team
