The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a part-time, fixed term position as Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) tenable from 07/07/2025 to 07/07/2028. The PDRA will work with Professor Francesca Billiani (PI) and Drs Luca Ciancabilla, Lidia Manzo, and Sara Sullam on the project ‘New Muralism: Urban Futures Through the Arts in Italy’, funded by the Leverhulme Trust.
The PDRA will select data, design and build the website; undertake fieldwork, including research on archival material and conducting semi-structured, in-depth interviews; and carry out activities with residents and city users. The PDRA will attend two academic workshops and one conference.
The PDRA should have a PhD or equivalent (or be close to the completion of a PhD) in a relevant discipline (Italian Studies, Sociology, Urban Studies, and Art History), appropriate language skills, a promising publication record, relevant experience in digital humanities, and a strong interest in taking part in ethnographic research.
