Salary: Band 6/7 equivalent Contract type: Full-time and part-time (3 days per week) roles available (both for term-time only, 37 weeks per year) Based: London About the role In this role, you’ll deliver therapy and education programmes based on pupils’ individual needs at AHS. This will include preparation, delivery, and evaluation of support programmes, and delivery and assessment of pupil interventions in and outside of school. You’ll also deliver regular assessments and progress reports, and participate in appraisals and clinical and management supervision as and when required. In addition, you’ll contribute to and support all aspects of school life, helping with safeguarding both on the school premises and during school outings and other activities. Essential qualifications and experience We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate occupational therapist to join our Prep school. You’ll be able to show these essential skills and requisite experience: Qualified OT HCPC registration Demonstrated experience working with children with SEN/SpLD IT literacy for clinical and administrative tasks Knowledge of relevant risk management, health and safety, and child protection practices Excellent communication skills Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team In addition, these skills and experiences are desirable, though not essential: Experience working in a school setting Ability to implement behaviour support strategies and structure clear care plans, based on best practice Ability to use knowledge to inform sound clinical judgements and decision-making for complex cases Key responsibilities The main aspects of this role are: Intervention, therapy, and pupil learning Provision of occupational therapy Preparation, delivery, and evaluation of pupil support, therapeutic, and educational programmes Delivery and assessment of pupil interventions Provision of targets for integration into the curriculum as part of each pupil’s IEP, in consultation with parents and teaching staff Assessment, reports, and appraisals Assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil progress Providing progress reports for annual review Intervention record-keeping Participating in appraisals as and when required Maintaining up to date continuing professional development Contributing to school life Supervising students and therapy assistants when required Participating in regular staff and therapy team meetings Participating in whole-school events, including those outside usual working hours Providing cover when other staff members are unavailable Provide safeguarding support both on the school premises and during external activities Go to: www.abingdonhouseschool.co.uk/about-us/work-with-us for more information and an application pack
