Salary: £31,500 - £42,700 Annual per year
Job Summary: Our Vehicle Technicians carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance of the John Lewis Partnership Fleet in a professional and competent manner.
Salary: The salary offered for this role is up to £42,700, plus a shift premium. Your potential earnings could be up to £57,000 including Shift premium and OTE (On Target Earnings).
Late Shift Working Hours: Full time role, 37.5 hours per week, with the expectation of working 1 in 2 Saturdays, at premium overtime rates. This will attract a shift premium of 25% (£7,875 per annum).
Night Shift Working Hours: Full time role, 37.5 hours per week. Week 1: Monday - Friday 22:00 - 06:00; Week 2: Sunday - Thursday 22:00 - 06:00. This will attract a shift premium of 33% (£10,395 per annum).
Contract type: This is a permanent role.
What you'll be doing
1. Ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard to both VOSA and Partnership’s requirements.
2. Complete all inspection/service/defect paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
3. Maintain a safe working practice that complies with current safety and Partnership regulations.
4. Carry out high-quality repairs in a cost-effective manner.
5. Keep all working areas clean and tidy.
6. Assist in specific projects as directed.
7. Stay up to date with developments within the motor industry and note changes that may affect workshop operations.
8. Carry out servicing & repairs of the Partnership's fleet of vehicles.
9. Take ownership of personal development, seeking assistance & guidance from team leaders.
10. Account for your own time and be efficient and proactive when working within the workshop.
11. Work as part of the team and assist others where needed.
Essential Experience/Qualifications required:
1. City and Guilds 1, 2, 3 Vehicle technician or equivalent qualifications.
2. Full UK Driving Licence.
3. A proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs.
4. Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness.
5. A 'C' or 'C+E' driving licence is desirable, but not essential.
