THE ROLE
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. Band: C (Mid-level Software Engineers - £43,000 - £53,000 per annum) & D (Senior Software Engineers - £55,000 - £65,000 per annum)

Job Introduction

We are looking for a range of programming languages across our tech hubs (Newcastle, Salford and Glasgow) at mid and senior engineer levels.
Our engineers receive 10% development time built into the 35-hour working week to stay fresh in the ever-changing technology landscape.
Main Responsibilities
As a software engineer at the BBC, you will help innovate and design new features and products, work with the team to build them, and support them after they’re live. You will ensure high-quality code is delivered in line with project goals and delivery cycles, thrive using agile methods, and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You will be a hands-on developer with experience taking ownership of projects, code, database architecture, and scalability. You will work with principal engineers and team leaders and help mentor juniors in the team, promoting technical standards.
