Project Manager (Academic)
Salary: £34,500 - £44,850
Location: Cambridge (hybrid)
Contract: Fixed term for 12 months from start date, full time (35 hours per week)

This role will be instrumental in managing two such projects, both of which are helping us to move toward our open research goals. About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our Academic team. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Projects, you will manage two key strategic projects within our Commercial team. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Project One: Discovery Phase – Publishing Services: Facilitate the development of a business case for entering a new market segment, coordinating with various teams to ensure project milestones are met.
* Project Two: Cambridge Open Engage: Oversee our software platform as we move into a new phase of our strategy, ensuring our existing customers are well-served along the way.
You will create and maintain project documentation, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and track project deliverables and timelines. Your role is crucial in unlocking new commercial value and helping us serve our customers efficiently.
About you
You are a passionate, experienced project manager who is looking for a new challenge. Ideally, you have some experience and knowledge of the academic publishing world. You are ready for a new opportunity to apply your skills in project planning, stakeholder management, and delivery management to important strategic projects in open research that need strong leadership and facilitation, and present opportunities to define new areas of our business.
Working closely with colleagues across multiple teams is your happy place, and you can build consensus and help a project team define, understand and achieve its goals. You enjoy applying your project management skills to new areas and learning about new topics as you go. You like to deeply understand the underlying objectives and drivers for your projects so that you can be a more effective project manager.
