Job Title: Education Support Worker - Stamford College
Location: Oakham Shires School, Rutland, LE15 6JB (based wholly from Stamford College)
Salary: £18,500 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00-16:30
Contract: Fixed Term, Term Time only (September 2024 to June 2025)

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Education Support Worker to join our close-knit team.
About the role
The Education Support Worker will support students attending Stamford College as they transition from school to a mainstream college environment.
Key responsibilities would include:
* To provide pastoral support to students in order that they can successfully engage in their chosen course on a day-to-day basis.
* To ensure the necessary record keeping is maintained and where required to assist in the preparation of routine reports.
* To participate in the development and/or review of all support documentation including risk assessments, individual learning plans and opportunity plans.
* Undertake regular welfare checks for the students during the college day.
* Maintain daily attendance records.
* Undertake regular check ins with tutors to identify any issues or concerns early and seek appropriate support to gain a resolution for them, removing any barriers to learning.
* Be physically fit and energetic.
* Be resilient. This role is very rewarding but does not come without its challenges.
Applicants must have a full, clean manual UK Driving Licence and be prepared to drive school vehicles as and when required.
About the school
Oakham Shires School is an Independent Special School for 11-18 year olds who are Autistic and have associated diagnosis and special education needs. The school delivers a primary curriculum to secondary aged pupils who have struggled to cope in a mainstream or larger SEN educational setting and are, as a result, working below age expected stage. Pupils are taught in small class groups of 4 -5 with a high staff to pupil ratio. Pupils are supported to achieve their Outcomes within their Education Health Care Plan, develop life skills and achieve accreditations in Maths, English and Science.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
