We are seeking a reliable and skilled Caretaker to join a Special School in Chelmsford. This full-time permanent role is ideal for someone who is experienced in maintaining school premises and ensuring the safety and security of the school grounds.
As the Caretaker, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of the school buildings and grounds, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and managing repairs. This is a key role within the school community, offering excellent opportunities for professional growth and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of school buildings and grounds.
* Conduct general maintenance and repair work, liaising with external contractors as needed.
* Manage the security of the premises, including unlocking and locking the school.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting routine safety checks.
* Support the setup and organisation of school events and activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role is preferred.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
