Job Description
We are looking for a Paralegal to join our Private Client team in Cambridge.
We are looking for candidates with a willingness to learn and develop, good social skills and plenty of drive and enthusiasm to help us to provide a first class client service.
Working alongside the lawyers in the Private client team, your main duties will include:
* Liaising with the client on behalf of your team either directly or by telephone or email and deal with any queries relevant to the client. This may involve taking instructions from the client on behalf of the lawyers
* Assisting with drafting legal documentation and correspondence as required
* Taking on responsibility for the day to day administrative running of matters working in conjunction with the Legal PA team to produce invoices, letters and documents
* Direct contact with clients and third parties. This will include meeting them face to face, dealing with telephone calls and responding to emails and letters
* Attending client meetings to support other lawyers in the team, to ensure, in particular, that accurate records are kept of those meetings and action points are recorded, communicated and met
Knowledge, skills and experience required
We would like you to have:
* A law degree or equivalent
* At least two years’ experience in a similar Paralegal position
* Strong team playing skills with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, where you will be required to meet tight deadlines
* Ability to listen and explain legal concepts to clients with clarity
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to your work
* Courteous and efficient telephone manner
* Well-developed communication and inter-personal skills
* Ability to display empathy to clients
* Adaptable approach, working with other members of the team when necessary
* Willingness to learn new skills and show commitment to your work and team
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
This is an office based position, but flexible working options can be discussed at interview.
