Role Overview:
We’re looking for a passionate NPD (New Product Development) Technologist to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you’ll focus on both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD), making it a fantastic opportunity to work on creating innovative products and refining existing recipes. With a strong understanding of the food-to-go category and chilled food manufacturing, you’ll help bring new ideas to life while ensuring our current products remain at the top of the market. Experience in sandwiches, salads, or rolls is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
* New Product Development: Lead the creation of exciting food-to-go items—such as sandwiches, salads, and rolls—from initial concept through to launch, ensuring each product meets our quality and flavour standards.
* Existing Product Development: Focus on EPD by improving current recipes, enhancing flavour, optimising ingredient sourcing, and extending shelf life.
* Recipe Testing & Improvement: Experiment with new ingredients and recipes to maintain product appeal and quality in the food-to-go category.
* Market Insight & Trend Tracking: Stay updated on industry trends, particularly within chilled foods, to ensure our products meet evolving customer expectations.
* Process & Quality Optimization: Work with production and quality teams to improve processes and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and procurement, to ensure smooth development and successful launches.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience: Demonstrated experience in a chilled food environment, especially within the food-to-go category, such as sandwiches, salads, or rolls.
* Product Development Knowledge: Familiarity with NPD and EPD processes, with hands-on experience in recipe creation, optimization, and quality control.
* Education: A degree in Food Science or a related field is a plus.
* Creativity & Attention to Detail: Ability to develop and refine recipes that are both innovative and consistently high-quality.
* Communication & Teamwork: Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and support seamless product launches.
