I am recruiting on behalf of my client who is known for manufacturing luxury-handcrafted motorcycles. They are looking for a Lead Chassis Engineer to join their expanding team on a contract basis.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support, review, and approve concept and production-level design, both internally and externally.
* Lead the design and development of quality components and systems for new class-leading motorcycles.
* Communicate and work with key internal departments and external service providers and suppliers to ensure quality design and feasibility.
* Ensure application of relevant industry standards and benchmark learning.
* Develop commodity delivery plans and drive delivery to plan.
* Approve concept and detail CAD designs and drawings.
* Attend and input into engineering reviews and discussions.
* Occasional travel may be required to support supplier development and product testing.
Qualifications / Skills Required:
* Understanding of engineering fundamentals in the design and development of components and assemblies.
* Risk identification and mitigation.
* Mechanical Engineering Degree with a grade of 2:1 or above.
* Practical hands-on engineering and mechanical experience.
* CREO experience is preferred.
* An understanding of motorcycle chassis design and its interaction with powertrain and electronics is essential for this role.
* A minimum of 6 years within a motorcycle engineering background.
