This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hillingdon Hospital redevelopment programme as Deputy Redevelopment Programme Director and to be part of a high performing, friendly and dynamic team who are driving the delivery of a full new build hospital.
The postholder will be a highly motivated, exceptional leader, with significant experience at a senior management level in an NHS Trust or similar organisation, a proven track record of delivering major projects and demonstrable project management and change management skills. The post holder will support the Redevelopment Programme Director with the development and implementation of plans for delivery of a new build Hillingdon Hospital and ensure plans are in place to support operational readiness and benefits realisation. They will deputise for the Programme Director across all areas of the programme as required.
Main duties of the job
Particular areas of responsibility and accountability include:
* Leading clinical planning and clinical and operational input to design development for the new hospital.
* Business case development for the new hospital, including workstream mobilisation and coordination.
* Leading the interface with the Trust’s Strategy and Transformation Group into the Redevelopment structure.
* Effective delivery of the Programme Management Office, ensuring the programme is managed to the highest standards of governance and assurance.
* Leading the development of the Target Operating Model for the new hospital.
* Leading the development of plans to ensure operational readiness of the organisation for the opening of the new hospital, including the change management programme.
* Managing the redevelopment analytics function, driving the long term demand and capacity modelling for the new hospital, ensuring alignment with national and local requirements and sign off by the Trust Board, North West London Integrated Care Board and the New Hospital Programme.
* Leading redevelopment communications and engagement, including extensive partnership working locally, regionally and nationally.
* Effective staff management and development - Healthcare Planning, Analytics, Programme Management Office and Communications teams and overseeing the management of a range of external contractors.
* Ensuring effective resource management across the redevelopment programme.

The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Person specification
* Demonstrable complex programme management experience with track record of applying best practice programme management methodology.
* Demonstrable experience of managing or supporting major change management programmes within the public sector in a multi-stakeholder environment, including strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and direct the resource needs of a team working to tight deadlines.
* Track record of complex business case development and proficiency in benefits management.
* Proficiency in senior level stakeholder communications and engagement and experience of managing public communications and media messaging. Political awareness and experience of operating in a politically sensitive and unpredictable environment.
* Track record of successfully managing teams and subject matter experts including an understanding of the key drivers of performance and how to improve outcomes.
* Experienced in overall budget setting and for managing budgets for major areas of activity.
