Our client is a market leader inthe automotive sector and they are looking to recruit anexperienced legal advisor to assist with their wide-rangingbusiness.
Due to the diverse nature ofthe business, the successful candidate must be capable of 'wearingmany hats.' You will be supporting the business across employment,property and customer/commercial disputes.
Youneed to be hands-on and be able to communicate with colleagues andcustomers from all walks of life. Strong people skills are a must.
The Role:
* We aresearching for an in-house legal advisor to join our clients growingfamily-led business. Reporting directly to the board of directorsyou will be responsible for assisting in all legal matters with aparticular focus on assisting the business in relation tocontractual arrangements with third parties, terms and conditions,consumer disputes, insurance matters, as well as ad hoc propertymatters.
* You will be involved in all aspects ofthe day-to-day operation of the business and be involved in thecommercial discussions and decisions providing advice and supportfrom a legal and commercial perspective to assist the business withits continued growth and development.
* The rolewill also involve working with the Compliance and HR functions ofthe business to ensure that precedents, corporate processes andpolicies are kept up todate.
Qualifications:
* Aqualified solicitor with experience in practice - in-house and/orprivate practice
* 2+ years post-qualificationexperience in corporate/ commercial/ consumerlaw
* Demonstrable experience in drafting andnegotiating a wide range of commercial contracts isessential
* Litigation experience ispreferred
* Clear analytical skills, with theability to process large amounts of information into effectivelegal proceedings
* Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills, a confident negotiator, with an ability toinfluence at all levels and explain and put complex legal andtechnical terms into practical workablesolutions
* IT Skills, including the ability toself-sufficiently operate Microsoft Office suite and Outlooksoftware
Responsibilities:
* Advisethe business on all legal issues relating to agreements (supplierand customer), litigation, consumer complaints (including FOScomplaints), planning and ad hoc property projects and generalbusiness matters.
* Manage all aspects of civillitigation claims from beginning to end including draftingsubstantive responses, drafting Proceedings and Particulars ofClaim/Defence.
* Liaise and negotiate withlenders as to rates and terms, operating agreements and anyconsumer complaints raised with thelender.
* Advise the business on applicable legalobligations, identifying and rationalising legal risk and ensuringlegal input to the internal governance and complianceprocesses.
* Contribute to the drafting ofpolicy, process and guidance on legalissues.
* Prepare and deliver in-house trainingin your area of expertise.
* Liaise with andmanage the business's external legal servicesprovider.
* Complete all internal and externalreporting requirements including assisting the compliance andaccounts team with FCA returns.
Hours andPay:
* Pay: 50,000.00- 60,000.00 peryear
* Hours: 40 per week (9-6pm with 1 hour forlunch)
