Senior Finance Officer\n\nThis is a great opportunity for an experienced Finance professional at manager level, to join this small company where all the employees are like a little family, supporting each other, and oversee the day-to-day financial matters of the business, with assistance from a Finance Officer, and alongside a Finance Consultant.\n\nSenior Finance Officer Responsibilities\n\nOur client is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to handle the day-to-day management of the finances.\n\nYour duties will include but not be limited to:\n\nFinancial compliance and control\nFinancial planning, forecasting, and budgeting\nFinancial reporting and management\nPayroll and pensions administration\nLine management of Finance Officer\nLiaison with external services for audit preparation, banking, and other financial needs\nProject, funding and grants financial management\n Senior Finance Officer Rewards\n\nAlongside a competitive salary our client offers:\n\n- 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays\n\n- Generous employer contributory pension scheme\n\n- EAP\n\n- On-Site car parking, bike storage, and close to public transport links\n\n- Flexible working (including some home working)\n\n- Staff events, such as weekend retreats and summer parties\n\nThere is a communal kitchen at the office and you can even bring your dog to work! \n\nThis is a full-time, permanent position working Monday-Friday. You will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days a week, ideally on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays when the Finance Officer is in the office as you will be managing them. \n\nThe interview process will consist of an initial Zoom interview followed by an in-person interview, including a test to assess technical skills. \n\nThe Company\n\nOur client is a global, not-for-profit spin-off from Oxford University.\n\nSenior Finance Officer Experience\n\nTo be successful in this role you will be a great team fit, and possess exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written as you will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders and governing body in the UK and Europe.
Ideally you will be a fully qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) but if you are qualified by experience at Manager level with substantial work experience in a senior finance role including people management experience, this will be considered. You must have proven UK based finance management experience as well as experience of using different accounting software - our client uses Xero. You must be analytical and a good problem solver and be able to work in an organised and methodical manner ensuring efficiency and accuracy at all times.
If you are fluent in a European language (alongside fluency in English), it would be desirable. You must have proven experience of managing large budgets and experience of working in the not-for-profit sector with grants, funding and project accounting. You must have solid finance management/ Accountant experience at strategic and analytical level, preparing financial reports, managing financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls and cashflow management from the UK with a solid knowledge of UK accounting practices. \n\nLocation\n\nHybrid - 2 - 3 days a week in the Oxford office.
You must live locally/ commutable distance within the Oxfordshire area in order to be in the office as required.
