Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Wrexham
Salary: £13.50 per hour
Role Description: Gray Healthcare is recruiting a new team of mental health support workers within the Wrexham area to support a lady in her late twenties with a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and Schizoaffective Disorder. She will be living independently in her own home, receiving 1:1 support 24 hours a day. The lady we will be supporting has a keen interest in baking and crafts and likes to keep busy and active. She will be supported by a female team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights.
Mental Health Support Worker Required Skills and Experience:
* Social care experience, ideally within mental health, with some experience of supporting individuals with complex care needs.
* Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and learning disabilities.
* Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that may be considered challenging.
* Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
* Must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. No certificates of sponsorship are available.
* This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
Hours: 36 & 24 hour contracts per week. Waking night shifts are available.
Induction and Training: We provide an initial week of training, which includes online training (company induction, systems, and medication), followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK, a PBS approach to least restrictive practice. You will also complete person-centred training specific to the individual you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
