This is an exciting opportunity to join the mental health and substance misuse team at HMP Wymott.
The team are based within the prison, which is located in Leyland. HMP Wymott houses both category C and vulnerable offenders.
The needs of the patients in our care are very diverse, ranging from primary mental health needs such as depression and anxiety to very complex needs and severe and enduring mental illness.
As such, there are excellent opportunities to gain a vast amount of knowledge and skills.
As a member of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, the post holder is responsible for managing a caseload of service users/patients within HMP Wymott.
The post holder is required to work with service users from a holistic perspective, considering both substance misuse and mental health needs. This post is based within the integrated mental health and substance misuse team, working into HMP Wymott.
The post holder will provide substance misuse assessment and treatment services within HMP Wymott.
The post holder will provide specialist clinical sessions to meet the needs of the service users/patients group.
The team operates 7 days per week, 8-4pm with weekend working on a rota basis.
Main duties of the job
Assessment, care planning, and delivery of treatment to patients with identified substance misuse needs.
1-1 and group interventions.
Risk assessment and management.
Administration and monitoring of prescribed medication.
